rebecca neale therapy

Working with adults both in person and online, my approach to psychotherapy aims to help you better understand yourself, your experiences and develop insight into the thoughts and feelings that may be contributing to areas of difficulty in your life. It is through knowing ourselves better that we are able to engage with the world and others more productively. We can learn to recognise the things in our life that we can control, and accept those things that we cannot. Psychotherapy can provide you with the opportunity for personal growth and freedom, and offers the space to develop a deeper understanding of your relationships, not only with others, but also with yourself.

Everyone seeks therapy for a reason that is individual to them. It may be that there is a particular difficulty or issue that you feel needs attention, or a feeling that you are struggling emotionally. You could be uncertain about how to navigate your experiences or a feeling that you have become stuck and unable to move forward in your life.

Working together in a safe, confidential space I would seek to support you to clarify your view on the challenges you are facing. Therapy gives you the opportunity to tell your story. It is a space in which you can be listened to, can reflect, and I will work alongside you to reach a deeper understanding of what it is that might be preventing you from moving forward. Together we will try to overcome these obstacles.

More about my approach

about me

Location

I am based in Sheffield and work from The Brook Therapy Rooms in Sharrow and at the Practice Rooms in Broomhill.

I also offer sessions remotely online or by telephone.

Training and Experience

I have undergone an extensive training and hold a professional qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from WPF Therapy. I am a clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I have continued to develop and enhance my practice through further training and workshops held by Tavistock Relationships, Confer, British Psychotherapy Foundation and Institute of Psychoanalysis.

I also understand something of the expectations and concerns of embarking on a therapy journey, having been in therapy myself for a number of years.

Within my private practice I have worked with a diverse range of clients and have additional experience working in perinatal mental health services with mothers and young children.
